Ten Speed Racer were three Barrett Brother- Pat, Dermot and John...with great friends Joe Chester and Terry Cullen.
IN their short, chaotic and extraordinary lifespan Ten Speed Racer released two full Albums-
ESKIMO BEACH BOY(2000)- Recorded and Produced by TSR, and mixed by Joe in Sun Studios, Dublin, in 10 days.
10SR(2003) - Produced by the band and mixed by Darren Alison(Divine Comedy, Spiritualized)
One EP - GIRLS AND MAGAZINES(2002)
...and 8 singles....All to phenomenal critical acclaim. "Your demon Heart" gaining Single of the week in The Guardian and NME.
They toured the US, the UK and Ireland many times.
They were championed in the UK by the likes of NME and The Guardian, and on radio by BBC Ulster, BBC6 music, Xfm and VirginRadio.
In Ireland, they were championed by Tom Dunne, Dan Hegerty, Roddie Cleere, Phantom FM among the many radio people who got on their side, and of course HOT PRESS, RTE Guide and many of the newspapers.
They Split in 2004, finishing with a fantastically rawcous and rowdy farewell gig in Dublin's Temple Bar Music Centre with many of the audience storming the stage for the finale.

He has a new album coming in 2024, releases have begun under the name MOUNTAIN STARS, with two of Bergens finest musicians, Daniel Birkeland and Frode Unneland.

John Barrett- John has released several albums under his own name and under the name The Silent Minute. They can be found on BANDCAMP
